About Invictus Ministries

Our story

Conquered Ground

Invictus Ministries Inc. was birthed out of a vision and a calling—led by our founder, Bishop Everett Van Debnam. We began in a modest office front, gathering faithfully for Bible study in the homes of believers due to limited space. As the Spirit of God moved and membership grew, so did our journey.

In March 1992, we transitioned to the YWCA, and by June, we moved into Searles Memorial United Methodist Church. After several relocations, God led us to a humble basement space. Though it lacked restrooms, a kitchen, and even finished wiring, within one week—on December 27, 1992—it became our sanctuary. That space, filled with love, fellowship, and the undeniable Spirit of God, became our first true home. It was there that we received our name: Invictus—Latin for “Unconquerable.”

In June 2005, we moved into our "new home" at 79 N Hanover Street, a historic Lutheran church and one of the oldest church buildings in Pottstown. It marked a new chapter in our ministry—one grounded in faith, growth, and purpose.

Active Frontline

Invictus Ministries stands today as a vibrant, Spirit-led church—rooted in God’s Word and the legacy of our founder, Bishop Everett Van Debnam. Under his leadership, miracles, signs, and wonders moved among us. Youth were raised in the faith, lives were transformed, and our pastor was elevated to Bishop and later sworn in as Chaplain for the Pottstown Police Department.

For years, Invictus was a beacon in Pottstown—a place of healing, growth, and unwavering truth. On August 23, 2021, Bishop Debnam was called home to be with the Lord. His teachings and legacy still flow through every part of this ministry.

Even in sorrow, the church stood strong. In September 2024, Pastor Benjamin Bullock was installed as our new shepherd, continuing the journey his spiritual father began. With fresh vision and a heart for people, he leads Invictus forward—raising disciples, reaching the lost, and pursuing God with passion and purpose.

Unseen Territories

We believe our greatest days are still ahead. With vision and unity, we are preparing for expansion—spiritually, numerically, and structurally. We are investing in the next generation, embracing technology for greater reach, and pursuing excellence in ministry and mission.

As an unconquerable people serving an undefeated God, we press forward—expecting miracles, raising leaders, and building for generations to come.
